Last 2008 when a financial crisis struck Spain, the rate of unemployment skyrocketed to more than 26%. It means there were about 3 million jobs lost during that time. In the course of the Great Recession, it was in the middle of 2013 when signs of the labor market declination started to turn around, hence, became the declaration of the end of the employment crisis. Spain's job market redeemed itself over the years and was considered one of the fastest recovering economies in Europe.
