Visitor Visa in Spain

Under this type of visa includes tourism-related and leisure activities, cultural-related events like sports festivals, film-making, workshops, religious gatherings, and short-stay purposes. Below is a list of documents and reminders needed for the visitor visa application.

  • Passport is valid for an extra three months before your departure date
  • Copy of the pages of your passport
  • Two biometric and identical photos were taken not older than three months while following the Schengen photo requirement
  • Flight and accommodation or hotel booking details. Everything should be in your name, correct dates should also be included. If you are staying with one of your relatives, friends, or a family member, a letter of invitation with complete details (how long is the traveler going to stay, address, contact, etc.)  of the host is required. If you rented a place for your Spanish trip, you need to show the rental agreement with the complete information
  • Travel medical insurance
  • Sources of funding for your trip. You need to present your (6 months) bank statements or a letter of support from the person who will fund your trip alongside his or her bank statements as well
  • Civil status evidence like marriage certificate, death certificate of the spouse, etc.
  • Employment status. In order to support and justify your financial sources for the trip. Certificate of Income Tax or Income Tax Return, of course, the employment contract, bank statements within six months, and a letter from your employer stating that there is no objection to your temporary absence in the company. For students: Enrollment certificate and an approved letter from the university or college stating you are allowed to leave school temporarily. For the self-employed: Income tax return, bank statement within six months, and copy of the business license. For the retired: Present your pension records within six months
  • The applicants need to submit a letter from the cultural organization in their home country and the cultural association in Spain if the visit is for cultural events. If your visit is film-related, submit an authorization letter from the filmmaking agency stating that the government of Spain approved the shooting or recording within the country, a list of the film-making staff, a letter from the filmmaker, and a certificate from the authorized cultural-related department in your home country declaring the applicant as a legit part of the film-making staff. For sports-related events, applicants are needed to submit a letter from their home country's sports organization containing complete information like name, role, and responsibilities of the applicant, employment period, and wage. Don’t forget to prepare for the cultural visa fee
  • Proof of payment for the visa fee
