Graduate or young professional programs are ideal if you’re approaching the end of your studies or are a recent graduate. They include placements with companies, NGOs, or international organizations and provide an opportunity for recent graduates to start their professional careers immediately. They are always paid and, in most cases, are structured as an organized program. Young professional programs are open for graduates in:
- Companies—big corporations provide placements for recent graduates in many fields. These graduate programs are usually well-structured in terms of ‘’learning by doing’’ in various departments and locations.
- International organizations—the titles given to these opportunities can vary. In the UN system for example, they are labelled for “Young Professionals,” but are exactly the same as regular graduate opportunities.
- NGOs and institutes—since the NGO world is dynamic and mostly project based, calls for graduates are made whenever there is a need. The exceptions are global NGOs or institutes like Human Rights Watch or Greenpeace, which have more regular schedules.
Now, have a great career!
