About the Internship   

The DWS Internship is an opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experience. Individual projects, participation in speaker sessions and networking events will all be part of the internship. Whilst you can expect a high learning curve from our Internship, you will benefit from the support of your managers and mentors along with unparalleled exposure to the world of Asset Management. This internship is an ideal way to determine whether a career in Financial Services & Asset Management meets your personal aspirations.    

Subject to performance, successful interns may be offered a place on the DWS Graduate P.A.C.E. program the following year. 

CFO 

Finance ensures that DWS meets all financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and stock-listed company. To maintain the firm’s financial health, Finance holds the DWS organization accountable for external and internal communicated targets and commitments, hence an accurate and transparent reporting is key to identify risk & opportunities. As a partner of the business Finance is performing deep dives, sensitivity analyses on the financial performance, competitor benchmarking and supports strategic initiatives and portfolio measures. The Finance department covers a broad range of activities like: Group Finance, Tax, Investor Relations, Planning & Performance Management, Treasury.    

As our DWS Intern, you will: 

  • Support your team to provide financial analyses and insights to DWS management  
  • Learn how a stock-listed company will prepare the strategic & financial plan  
  • Be involved in the external reporting including the quarterly earnings release hosted by the CFO and CEO of DWS  
  • Contribute to the transformation of the CFO organization by supporting the implementation of BI tools and / or the implementation of new reporting requirements like CSRD / IFRS   
  • Learn how our Treasury Team is steering DWS’ liquidity  
  • Understand how important an accurate transfer pricing framework is and how a global acting company like DWS is impacted  
  • You will improve your communication skills as we are acting in a global team and working across multiple time zones (US to Asia Pacific)

Description of Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for:   

  • Driven and committed interns    
  • A team player with a curious mind     
  • Someone with a keen interest in financial services but no experience is required    
  • Advanced German and English language skills   
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications like Excel, Word, Powerpoint  
  • You are enrolled in your penultimate or last year of study, or on a gap year in between your Bachelor and Master’s degree 
  • You need to be available for between 3-6 months. There are flexible intakes available - Spring, Summer and Autumn
