ISCOMS

The International Student Congress Of (bio)Medical Sciences aims to further develop itself as a leading forum in the worldwide exchange of student research within all field of (bio)medical sciences.

The International Student Congress Of (bio)Medical Sciences, also known as ISCOMS, is one of the world’s leading student congresses in (bio)medical sciences. ISCOMS is not just any regular congress however, it is a non-profit organisation made up of students that aims to promote student research and the international exchange of it. Throughout our three day congress we therefore offer a stimulating venue for student research exchange and give students the opportunity to broaden their social and scientific network. Our scientific programme includes different researches from students all over the world which are presented in poster, oral or plenary form, all in front of an international and professional audience. Along with these student sessions there will be fascinating keynote lectures and hands-on workshops. Along with a rich scientific programme we also have an elaborate social programme, filled with dinners and parties giving a chance for all the participants to get to know and have fun with each other and the ISCOMS organisation.

PARTICIPATION

You can either be a presenting or a non-presenting participant at ISCOMS. Both participants can enjoy every aspect of the congress!

Presenting participants
If you want to present your work at ISCOMS, the first thing you should do is send in an abstract. After the deadline for the abstract submission, abstracts will be reviewed by the Organising Committee with the help of experienced researchers and professors. According to the quality of the abstract and the research conducted, abstracts will be accepted as a plenary presentation, oral presentation, or poster presentation. Abstracts can also be rejected. If your abstract is not selected, there is a possibility to get feedback and you can of course participate as a non-presenting participant!

You will be informed about the results of the abstract selection around March 2020. There can be no correspondence about the selection procedure.

After you are selected as a presenting participant, you will receive a link where you can register yourself as a presenter. You will also hear from us which session you will be in.
International presenting students will receive an invitation letter (with which you can apply for a visa if you need one) and an information booklet about ISCOMS. You will receive this via e-mail and via postal services.

Dutch presenting students will receive information about ISCOMS via e-mail.

Non-presenting participants
Enjoy the entire congress and expand your knowledge by listening to presenting students, visiting inspiring keynote lectures about ground breaking research and actively joining in workshops. Be a part of the fascinating social programme where you get to know fellow students and relax after the congress days.

The congress is a mixture of scientific and social activities. This is what makes ISCOMS a brilliant experience for all participants, both presenting and non-presenting!

TARGET GROUP

The International Student Congress Of (bio)Medical Sciences is meant for all (bio)medical students interested in research.

Both bachelor and master students are welcome at the ISCOMS. Our target group consists of undergraduate and graduate students, or people who have just graduated but still wish to present their research conducted while being a student. Thus students can also present their thesis at ISCOMS. However, we do not accept case reports (clinical or basic), reviews or literature studies (except for meta-analysis).
