MAMUN 2024 will offer an exciting array of committees, each catering to different levels of experience and interest. For beginners, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) offers the opportunity to delve into issues of crime prevention, criminal justice and the fight against illicit drugs. Similarly, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) provides a platform to discuss gender equality, with a focus on empowering women and combating discrimination against the LGBTIQ+ community.
Intermediate delegates will have the opportunity to engage with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), focusing on peace and security issues and the power to impose sanctions. The African Union (AU), also for intermediate delegates, offers a diverse experience in promoting peace, security and sustainable development in Africa.
For expert delegates, the Historical North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) committee allows participants to explore this military alliance's principle of collective defense and consensus decision-making. This historical setting provides a unique twist, allowing delegates to change the course of history. In addition, the Futuristic BRICS+ Summit (BRICS) challenges advanced delegates with a specialized, forward-looking debate on emerging global issues within the BRICS nations.
