Overview

We are now looking for an Intern Business Analyst to join the hBCC team in Paris to support South Asia roll-out planning defined for Premiums & Claims onboarding and globally the APAC region with the daily activities once in Business As Usual (BAU) mode. The person will be working closely with business users based in Singapore to drive and resolve various hELIOS activities.

Primarily, the activities will revolve around bordereau data which we receive from our cedents, transforming them and processing them into the hELIOS system. You will need to be comfortable working with large data size and command good analytical skills, either to manipulate the bordereau data before loading or to compare the bordereau with hELIOS data and identify potential discrepancies. A good understanding on the reinsurance or insurance industry will also be advantageous.

hELIOS Business Competency Centre (hBCC) is a function within Scor Life & Health to supports the new global business solution (hELIOS). We assist the hELIOS business users on the delivery and transition to the new way of working, as well as managing ongoing maintenance activities surrounding the new system.

The team is currently looking for a Business Analyst intern to support South Asia roll-out planning defined for Premiums & Claims onboarding and globally the APAC region with the daily activities once in Business As Usual (BAU) mode. The person will develop a strong understanding of the system, underlying business knowledge and will need to be working closely and comfortably with large data.

The Intern Business Analyst reports to APAC hBCC Manager and might work in close relationship with other hBCC Team members and the hELIOS Project Team. A good understanding regarding the (re)insurance industry or project environment will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

As an Intern Business Analyst within the hBCC team, you will:

  • Support business users and ensure the smooth usage of hELIOS, in particular the processing of bordereau data into the system.
  • Support business users upon various maintenance requests and issues, analysing the problems and resolving the blockages.
  • Support business users on new onboarding requests and data transformation package creation (especially for Claims) or enhancement, i.e. adding new cedents, treaties, reinsurance products, etc.
  • Review and test package deliverabled from data engineers, ensuring accuracy of the transformation (reconciliation with statement of accounts) and ensuring smooth processes within the system.
  • Test new system functionalities and enhancements prior to rolling out to business users.
  • Build and maintain a good relationship with the business users (technical accountants, actuaries, underwritters, claims assessors etc.) to ensure common understanding and confidence in our supporting work.

Required competencies

  • Organized, curious, autonomous and rigorous.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrable ethical standards, with the highest standards of personal and professional integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (English, French).
  • Excel, SQL experience will be advantageous.

Required Education

  • University undergraduate on Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics. Currently doing a masters in a related field.
