The African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI) has opened its call for graduate students in Africa to apply for the 2025 edition of the Plant Nutrition Scholar Award program.
The Award offers ten (10) awards of $2,000 (U.S. Dollars) to M.Sc., M.Phil., or Ph.D. students in the disciplines of soil science, agronomy, and horticultural or tree crop science with a focus on plant nutrition. Students must also be attending a degree-granting institution located in Africa.
“Once again we are very pleased to offer this award through our partnership with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and OCP Group, which recognized excellence in graduate student programs focused on advancing the science of crop nutrition within Africa,” explains APNI Director General, Dr. Kaushik Majumdar.
Candidates must be enrolled in a program of graduate study as of the application deadline of 30 April, 2025.

Applicants are eligible if they are:
- Currently enrolled and attending a degree-granting institution located in Africa.
- Candidates for M.Sc., M.Phil., or Ph.D. degrees enrolled in a program of graduate study as of the application deadline. M.Sc. and M.Phil students must be in the second year of study.
- Applicants who have already completed their degrees are ineligible.
- Past winners of the Award are not eligible.
