As a recent college graduate, it can be difficult to find a job. Often job seekers are overqualified, taking on roles that don’t require a college degree, or may lack the practical skills and experience needed to transition smoothly. Does this sound familiar?

The Ameson Year in China Program (AYC) is a solution to the open-minded adventurer who is looking for international experience, professional development, and personal growth. It's a unique opportunity for recent college graduates to become Educational Ambassadors by spending a year teaching, learning, and making a difference in public schools across China. Participants experience the challenges and distinct rewards of being immersed in one of the world’s fastest-developing economic and cultural landscapes. Each week, twenty hours are spent teaching, ten hours are spent in the office or in support of students’ activities, and ten hours are spent in collaborative or self-directed pursuits, such as language learning, exploration, and community engagement.

Who can apply for the Ameson Year in China program?

  • In order to secure a Chinese work permit and participate in AYC, all participants must:
    • Be a native English speaker with a passport from the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, or New Zealand
    • Have at least a completed Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) before departure
    • Be able to pass a criminal background check
