Details

The scheme is designed to deliver all the exposure, experience and support you need in order to achieve a successful career in Finance. You will be expected to rotate between finance departments to get a full overview of the function but will predominantly be based at our head office in Leeds.

Arla will fully support your development throughout your 3 years on the scheme, with a programme designed to prepare you for future management roles. Central to this is, we will fund you through your professional CIMA  qualifications, including providing paid leave for study during working hours and exams. You will form part of a network of graduates whereby we will further your development in key leadership skills and insights into your learning and work styles, providing you with a suite of skills to succeed in your finance career with us.

Responsibilities

The 3 year scheme consists of rotations between various Finance departments each fulfilling a specific role. Through the rotations, you will gain experience in a range of business areas which may include, but not limited to, Commercial, Supply Chain, Milk Buying and Corporate Finance. We also have a number of production and distribution facilities and shared services centre and there may be an opportunity to experience working alongside one of these teams too.

Responsibilities will grow during your time on the scheme, with the expectation that you will not only successfully complete the roles presented, but will push yourself and your colleagues to identify areas for further improvement.  This will include managing and taking ownership for a selection of annual projects.

The structure of the programme

Through exciting rotations across three Finance functions, we will support your development of core Finance skills, while building on essential competencies within Business & Performance, Data & Digital and Strategy & Execution. 

1. Business & Performance

12 months – Home country

  • Apply analytical skills into a business context to provide valued guidance for decision-makers
  • Understanding financial performance, analysis and modeling
  • Building strong relationships and working on the ability to influence

2. Data & Digital

6 months – Home or abroad

  • Understand data and leverage it to generate insights for the business
  • Grow advanced analytics and visualization skills, building BI and predictive capabilities
  • Apply digital technology to automate and optimize tasks

3. Strategy & Execution

6 months – Home or abroad

  • Building business cases and proposals for investments and communicating them effectively
  • Problem solving, critical thinking and stakeholder management
  • Using Finance to drive the business forward and create value

The structure of the two-year graduate programme is designed with a focus on how we can fuel your growth and development.

You will receive a mentor to support your development and receive regular feedback on your performance from your development manager to keep you on track. You will play a big role in designing your own development journey together with your mentor and manager.

In Arla Finance, we partner with the business and take on a data-driven approach as we spark insights into foresights. To excel within Finance, it is imperative that you are a relationship-builder, have strong analytical skills and are a natural problem-solver – driven by your passion for Finance.

We are looking for candidates with a curious mindset, who want to explore and gain hands-on experiences across various Finance functions to increase their skillset and Grow with Arla.

What makes a Finance Graduate?

  • You are aiming towards a career in Finance. 
  • You have completed a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree no later than 2 years prior to the start of the Finance graduate programme in September. 
  • You have delivered solid academic results. 
  • You have relevant experience from a student job or internship.
  • You have an analytical and structural mindset, exhibit problem-solving skills and possesses a willingness to learn and explore. 
  • You exercise our Arla values of Lead, Sense, Create. 
  • There is no requirement to speak another language than English but is of course a plus. You are not required to speak neither Danish, Swedish or German.
