We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of Supply Chain Management. Every day Material Steering departments order over 31 million parts to enable our 30+ production locations to build more than 2.5 million vehicles per year.  The future of the automotive industry is being shaped by the power of data and digital innovation. What awaits you? 

  • Data Pipeline Development: You develop and operate data processing pipelines and analytics applications using state-of-the-art tools. 
  • End-to-End Project Ownership: You take ownership of end-to-end data analytics projects starting from our data warehouse to the final data visualization. 
  • Data Analytics and Problem Solving: You will embrace data analytics tools and methods confidently and responsibly to solve business challenges. 
  • International and Diverse Team: You will be part of an international and diverse team of young professionals within BMW. 
  • Supply Chain Domain Knowledge: You will work on various projects within the supply chain context, driving digital solutions that increase the efficiency of our delivery network.

Description of Ideal Candidate

What should you bring along? 

  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Engineering or a Business Degree with a focus on IT-related fields. Master's degree preferred. 
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge in data engineering and modelling, building automated ETL pipelines, Entity-Relationship models, and visualizing data to enable data-driven decision-making. 
  • Preferably, familiarity with data engineering tools and libraries (e.g., Pandas, Kafka, Rest APIs). 
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, PySpark and visualisation tools like Tableau, PowerBI or QuickSight. 
  • Experince: Prior experience and desire to work in a collaborative, international and agile team. Preferably, relevant experience in digitalization or analytics through internships or part-time jobs. 
  • Communication Skills: You are fluent in English, enabling effective communication and collaboration within an international team. 
  • Curious Mind: You have a sharp intellect, creative mind and are curious about supply chain digitalization at a leading OEM.
