Job Description

Our department supports others in their IT activities. This ranges from procuring and setting up laptops to developing applications on the cloud to support internal processes. That's why we are looking for help with:

  • Developing these applications
  • Documenting them for fellow contributors to your Git repository as well as end-users
  • Negotiating requirements with stakeholders
  • Planning their implementation in an agile manner
  • These solutions typically are written Visual Basic or C# as well as HTML, CSS and Javascript.

Qualifications

IMPORTANT: All internships at Bosch Japan are open to students only. Candidates have to be enrolled for the entire duration of their internship.

Either you are pursuing an IT-related degree like computer science or you have the following:

  1. General understanding how computers, operating systems and networks work
  2. Using MS Office and your favorite IDE pose no challenge.
  3. Programmed at least 1000 lines of useful code in any major language.
  4. Know what `DROP TABLE students;` does in a SQL database.
  5. Familiarity with or willingness to learn the technologies used in our applications.

Furthermore, we would like you to be:

  1. Self-motivated. We don't like micro-managing, so please aim to accomplish your tasks as independently as possible. Naturally we are available for advice anytime, but you learn the most by trying out things on your own first.
  2. Communicating with the relevant stake-holders. They are usually from different cultures, which may be new to you. The most important language is English, which is why you should be fluent in it. If you are fluent in Japanese, intermediate English will do too. German could be useful as well,  but is not required.

Cost/funding for participants

We offer a very competitive monthly net allowance of 190,000 Yen on a full-time scheme. We will also provide you with all necessary documents and information for a successful Designated Activities visa application. Please note that the full visa process may take up to three months. Furthermore, applicants who intend to have an internship period for 12 months/already hold residence status in Japan will receive a monthly gross allowance.
