Job Purpose:

The Inventory Planning team is responsible for the target stock definition in the European distribution network, including 9 manufacturing plants and several central and regional distribution centers. 
The trainee will support the team in the analysis related to Inventory Planning process. In particular, this means monitoring the inventory levels and quality vs. target; running Root Cause Analysis on deviations vs. targets and creating a PDCA plan with cross functionals teams to recover deviations and run continuous improvements into all planning processes. 

The trainee will report to the head of Inventory Planning and collaborate closely with the Inventory Planning Analyst.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define inventory targets, for all products and channels,  including Regional, European and Manufacturing Distribution Centers.
  • Plan the monthly Inventory level with 18 months horizon together with Tactical and Operational teams. This includes mapping total inventory, production, import, sales and export.
  • Define the optimal Distribution Centers (DC) network together with Logistics team. This includes total inventory level by warehouse and product group. 
  • Analyze the quality of the stock and project the future evolution (good stock, OE SK, Slow Moving , Obsolete).
  • Work with Sales & Marketing to identify the necessary actions to keep OE SK and Slow-Moving stock at lowest possible level.
  • Identify and discuss team future risks (shortages) and opportunities with Sales and LSCM.

Required Capabilities:

  • Experience in using data analysis tools. e.g. Excel, Microsoft Business Intelligence, other relevant business information software.

Requirements: 

  • Supply Chain, Business or Business Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English, additional language (Dutch, French…) is a plus.
  • Experience in supply chain planning / operations is a plus.
  • Experience with big data / analytics is a plus.
