Details

The summer program is organized in the Czech Republic (Prague) in partnership with the CEVRO Institute. It takes place in the historical center of Prague.

This year's theme is Current Conflicts in the World Today

In order to take full advantage of the course, the candidates should be at an advanced stage of their university studies or justify sufficient professional experience. Good knowledge of the working language of the session is necessary (English or French). For the French language sessions, passive knowledge of English is necessary.

ECTS Credits (European Credit Transfert and Accumulation System) Candidates may be able to acquire ECTS in accordance with the Bologna Process. ECTS is a system of capitalization of transferable credits conceived by the European Union. It is based on mutual recognition between university programmes of the individual workload achieved by the student to attain the objectives of their programmes. Students wishing to acquire ECTS credits for their participation in this Summer Session will need to provide additional work, i.e.:

  • Compulsory attendance in all the activities of the Summer School,
  • Oral test with one of the program lecturers at the end of the session,
  • Personal research and writing of a summary of the course to be sent to CIFE according to the rules and in the delay explained in the ECTS publication.

PROGRAMME 20215

The summer courses are a part of CIFE's core activities: the first summer university took place in 1961, in Aoste (Italy). Many followed since, in a variety of countries, in particular in Eastern Europe. CIFE organises these programmes in co-operation with one or several partners in each of the host countries. The summer courses welcome twenty to forty international students, on average. The working languages are French and English. The programmes consist of lectures, seminars, conferences and visits to various relevant institutions that help promote a better understanding of the political and cultural climate and the way of life in the respective host country. At the end of each programme participants may obtain ECTS credits. These summer courses are also an opportunity for our students to meet up with former participants from CIFE’s various programmes in their native countries.
