What are we looking for?

Cathay Capital’s Private Equity team in Paris is offering a full-time internship opportunity to support its French investment team and cross-border investment activities. 

Responsibilities

  • The Private Equity Intern will work closely with Cathay’s investment professionals on assessing investment opportunities, investing into, monitoring and exiting portfolio companies.
  • The Intern will be directly involved and become an integral part of the teams across our 3 sectors of focus: Healthcare, Tech & Software, Consumer & Retail
  • Responsibilities will include:
    • Assessing investment opportunities
    • Conducting company-specific and market due diligence analyses
    • Performing business model, LBO and valuation analyses
    • Assisting in the preparation of investment committees
    • Monitoring portfolio companies (financial and operational reporting, performance analysis, build-up opportunities, etc.)

Qualities

  • Analytical acumen, excellent fact-driven judgment, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to multitask. Highly organized with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently amid rapidly changing priorities and often under pressure
  • Dogged persistence and perseverance to uncover important details
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication
  • Fondness for an International work environment
  • Strong quantitative skills, including knowledge of financial statement analysis, LBO modeling and valuation techniques

Qualifications

  • Student currently in 2nd or 3rd year of top-tier Master, Grande Ecole or Engineering school
  • Prior 6+ months experience in Private Equity, M&A, Strategy Consulting, Leverage Finance or Transaction Services
  • Fluency in French and English
