Overview

As the world faces climate change and increasing inequality that threaten social stability in the future, the study of responsible governance is essential in the coming decades.

Details

The Climate Action Scholarship is for students passionate about global sustainability, renewable energy and the transformation of energy systems. Applicants must possess the desire to deepen their knowledge in this field by examining governance structures, policies, markets, technology and new ideas to achieve the material and social conditions of long-term and universal human well-being.

How to apply

  • First, submit a standard application to the MPP programme.

Your application for admission to a master’s programme must be submitted by either the Early Bird deadline (1 December) or Priority Deadlines (non-EU/EEA 15 January; EU/EEA 15 February). We recommend you apply as early as possible.
  • After receiving an admission offer, you will be invited to access the Funding Application. You will have two weeks to apply for scholarships.

For the Climate Action Scholarship, write a one-page personal statement on your interest in climate action and how your studies at the Hertie School could serve this purpose.

You may not apply for scholarships until after being admitted to a programme. You may only apply to one full scholarship per year.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview with a faculty member.

Master of International Affairs

The Master of International Affairs (MIA) equips students with tools of international policymaking to tackle global challenges and devise sound policy proposals in a global multilevel system. Understanding how to navigate this complex landscape of diverse actors and disciplines is at the core of the programme. The MIA programme prepares students for positions requiring a profound understanding of today’s global policy challenges in government, international organisations, business and civil society.
