Overview
E-PiCo is a 2-year Master programme that offers useful and necessary multidisciplinary topics in the e-mobility field. E-PiCo will provide technical and scientific solutions to the issue of fossil consumption and greenhouse gas emission. It is devised to train students in the field of e-mobility in order to have them work towards ecological transition. It is directly applicable to industry by training future electric propulsion system expert graduates. Through lectures by reputable researchers, practical work on the latest experimental platforms, sessions with industrial specialists, annual workshops, E-PiCo students acquire the most advanced knowledge that will prepare them for the upcoming challenges in e-mobility.

Mobility Scheme and Summary of the programme
The language of instrution is English, but local language and culture courses of the host countries are included in the programme of study.
The aim of the first two semesters is to provide the students with a solid interdisciplinary background across the main areas of e-mobility (Automatic control, Electrical systems, Embedded systems, Electric vehicle modeling). During the third semester, depending on the host institution, the student will deal with one or more of the following sectors: Energy storage systems, Control of electric propulsion system, Control in e-mobility, and Embedded systems and communications in e-mobility systems. The fourth semester is set aside for the Master's Thesis. The student carries out his/her research work under the joint supervision of two advisors from two different consortium institutions.
The programme of study lasts two academic years (120 ECTS) split into four equally loaded semesters.
E-PiCo student mobility paths will take place in minimum 2 EU countries, and possibly in 3 EU countries for the first 3 semesters. For the 4th semester E-PiCo students may move to partner countries considering the EACEA regulations for Erasmus Mundus scholarship holders or to an industrial partner.
Degrees
Students graduating from the E-PiCo Master's course are awarded two (or three) Master's degrees from the institutions where they studied, as well as a Diploma Supplement. The degrees obtained are officially recognized and give full access to PhD study programmes.
Depending on the mobility carried out, two (or three) of the following Master's degrees will be awarded:
- Centrale Nantes
Master in Automatic, Robotics, Control - Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel
Master Electrical Engineering and Information Technology - Università degli Studi dell’Aquila
Master in Computer and Systems Engineering - Universitatea Politehnica din Bucuresti
Master in Integrated Electrical Systems Engineering Vehicles
Diploma Supplement
In addition to the Master's degree certificates, a Diploma Supplement is issued. It contains reference to the partner institutions in the consortium, and an overall description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were pursued and successfully completed by the student.
Eligibility
Candidates should be from:
Description of Ideal Candidate
Open to students who already hold a first university degree with the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits in the European system, after at least three years studies, at the level of Bachelor of Science, in a field related to electrical engineering such as:
- Electrical engineering
- Auto-control
- Computer science
- Physics
- Mathematics
Graduation must take place before 31 July for non-European students and before 30 September for European students.
Applicants must speak and write English fluently. An applicant whose native language is not English is required to pass a recognized international English test:
- TOEFL (CBT 220, PBT 550, IBT 80),
