It is with a great pleasure and enthusiasm that, together with the Local Organising Committee Chair, we warmly invite you to the 33rd European Congress of Psychiatry.
The Congress will take place on 5-8 April 2025 in Madrid, Spain.
Details
Our European Psychiatric Association community is growing fast, as testified by the increasing number of members and the numerous activities the EPA is organising. Many of you are young and clinically oriented, and it is this clinical orientation that is highlighted in the motto of our Madrid Congress:
“Towards Real-World Solutions in Mental Health”.
Indeed, next to excellent and ground-breaking research, one of the core interests of EPA is the clinical translation of these findings and the sharing of good practices. As clinicians, we are engaged on a daily basis to help real-world patients. Of course, we need to be informed of the newest scientific developments, but even more we need to get new, creative ideas and examples on how to shape our day-to-day practices.
Excellent science, high-level educational programmes and a clear focus on clinical implementation is what you’ll find in Madrid.
We are convinced that Madrid 2025 will prove to be a brilliant opportunity to exchange on these topics, meet old and new friends, expand your horizons in our beautiful profession and enjoy the many delights Madrid has to offer.

About the EPA
The founding members of the association worked to establish an association that would promote European Psychiatry in the fields of research, treatment and teaching, three axes considered to be unequivocally complementary within the discipline of psychiatry. In addition, they positioned the association as a privileged mediator between practitioners, official councils and public authorities on matters relating to mental health policies.
Today, the EPA continues in the spirit of the founding members, with a focus on collaborating with European partner organisations, lobbying at the European level for the development of standards in care, prevention and education, providing professional support to early career psychiatrists, and translating scientific evidence into the best clinical practice across Europe and worldwide.
The European Psychiatric Association
With active individual members in as many as 88 countries and 44 National Psychiatric Association Members who represent more than 78,000 European psychiatrists, the European Psychiatric Association is the main association representing psychiatry in Europe. The EPA’s activities address the interests of psychiatrists in academia, research and practice throughout all stages of career development.
The EPA deals with psychiatry and its related disciplines and focuses on the improvement of care for the mentally ill as well as on the development of professional excellence.
