Overview
The European Sustainable Energy Awards (EUSEW Awards) recognise and celebrate the people, projects, and initiatives that advance Europe’s transition to clean and sustainable energy. These awards highlight achievements that contribute to the EU’s Green Deal objectives and encourage others to adopt best practices in building a sustainable energy future.
Details
The European Sustainable Energy Awards recognise outstanding individuals and projects for their innovation and efforts in the field of energy efficiency and renewables.
Prizes are awarded in three categories:
- INNOVATION: The EUSEW Innovation Award recognises outstanding ongoing or recently completed EU-funded projects that show an original and innovative path towards the clean energy transition.
- LOCAL ENERGY ACTION: The EUSEW Local Energy Action Award recognises implemented sustainable energy actions, driven by a group of citizens or consumers (associated with a municipality or other stakeholders), which contribute to the clean energy transition at the community or local level.
- WOMAN IN ENERGY: The EUSEW Woman in Energy Award recognises women who lead outstanding activities that, if replicated, help to advance the clean energy transition in Europe. Particular attention is placed on efforts to drive the gender mainstreaming agenda and support equality and equal opportunities in the energy sector.
Finalists are chosen by a high-level jury from a shortlist of the year’s most impactful projects and actions for clean, secure and efficient energy, and the winners are decided by an online public vote. A film crew visits the locations of the finalists' activities and interview key actors to feature them in EUSEW communications.
