Overview
EuroDIG is a platform for discussion and the exchange of ideas on emerging issues and challenges concerning the Internet. All stakeholders are invited to shape the agenda jointly and take part in the discussion. The inclusive and continuous dialogue, which culminates in an annual event, has taken place in a different European country every year since its inception in 2008. The results are conveyed in the form of ‘Messages’ which are forwarded to policy makers and fed into the annual global UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
In 2025 EuroDIG will take place from May 12 – 14 in Strasbourg, France, hosted by the Council of Europe in cooperation with the Luxembourg Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
Details
EuroDIG is not a usual conference organized top-down by a small committee. It is a platform where YOU can set the agenda and shape the issues. Every year EuroDIG takes place in another European country thus bringing in new people constantly. The local community always plays a big role in the planning process, whilst the European network of institutional partners behind EuroDIG guarantees stability and continuity. The EuroDIG secretariat offers and facilitates diverse participative opportunities to help you contribute to the agenda setting or to organise a session.
EuroDIG’s key principles are "always open, always inclusive". During the programme drafting process we do not exclude any proposal. Instead of accepting or disregarding session proposals, we call for issue proposals (not sessions) to be discussed on the next EuroDIG agenda and cluster them accordingly. The aim is to identify submissions which can be incorporated in one session while reflecting different perspectives.
