Are you looking for a career in public health?Would you like to experience living in several European countries while studying in an international environment? The Europubhealth+ Master course is for you:

  • a 2-year multidisciplinary Master course in public health
  • delivered by a consortium of 8 European universities leading to an internationally recognized double Master's degree
  • an intercultural environment of study, in up to 3 languages: English, Spanish or French.

The Europubhealth+ programme is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degreethat has been recognized as a Master of Excellence by the European Commission since 2006.

Details

  • 1.- STUDY IN SEVERAL EUROPEAN COUNTRIES: France, Belgium, Spain, Ireland, United Kingdom, Poland and the Netherlands. In only two years, Europubhealth students get to study in at least 2 European universities and in up to 3 languages: English, Spanish or French.
  • 2.- LEARN FROM HIGH PROFILE INTERNATIONAL FACULTY: European and Non-European professors from various backgrounds bring their expertise to the Europubhealth+ programme.
  • 3.- GRADUATE FROM TWO RENOWNED UNIVERSITIES: Upon completion of the 2-year course, Europubhealth+ students receive two national Master's degrees and a joint European diploma supplement.
  • 4.- PURSUE YOUR PUBLIC HEALTH TRAINING AT PhD LEVEL: Around one third of our students continue with a PhD program after graduation.
  • 5.- ACCESS A WIDE RANGE OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Thanks to the 7 different specializations offered, Europubhealth+ graduates can work as public health experts in the private or public sector at a global, national or local level. They also have access to a large professional network through the 8 Europubhealth+ universities' partnerships and collaborations around the world.
  • 6.- MEET PEOPLE FROM ALL AROUND THE WORLD: The Europubhealth+ Master course has built an international mutlidiscplinary network of more than 350 graduates of 80 different nationalities.

With the Europubhealth+ programme you are choosing:

  • to live abroad: during 2 years, you will live and study in at least 2 European countries and benefit from the support of experienced teams in each Higher Education Institution
  • global health and intercultural work through multicultural team work, problem-based learning and a mandatory internship or practicum
  • a large network in public health composed of academics and professionals with high expertise in the field as well as international students and alumni.

Once you graduate from Europubhealth+, you will be able to:

  • analyse and address the determinants of health problems from a population perspective
  • propose, plan, implement and evaluate culturally appropriate, evidence-based policies and interventions for the effective improvement of population health in international, national and local contexts.

Mobility

As a Europubhealth+ student, you choose a pathway in a minimum of two different partner countries of the consortium located in Europe. According to your language skills, you can do your first year in English at the University of Sheffield (UK) or in Spanish at the University of Granada (Spain) to acquire core competences in public health.

Your second year of study has to be done in a different country according to your specialisation choice and language skills, that is to say either at the Jagellonian University in Poland (English), at the EHESP School of Public Health in Paris (English), at the University of Rennes 1 (French), at the EHESP in Rennes (French), at the University of Granada in Spain (Spanish) or at Maastricht University in The Netherlands (English).

At the end of each academic year, you participate in an integration module at EHESP in Rennes, France (English) gathering all Europubhealth+ students for three weeks.

Description of Ideal Candidate

Europubhealth+ is a two-year full time programme open to students with diverse but complementary profiles drawn from:

    • health / medical sciences (including doctors, nurses, veterinaries, pharmacists, biologists...)
    • social sciences (including sociology, economics, psychology, anthropology, geography, political sciences, law...)
    • engineers

To be eligible, you must fulfil the following conditions agreed by the Consortium:

    • having at least a university Bachelor degree (180 ECTS) or certified equivalent in one of the disciplines mentioned in the access profiles (a copy of your last degree is required when applying online or at the latest before the beginning of the course if you are currently finishing your Bachelor studies)
    • being proficient in the languages suitable for the mobility combinations chosen: English; English+Spanish; English+French; Spanish+English+French (mandatory copies of language proficiency tests meeting the minimum admission requirements must be provided when applying online)
    • submitting a complete online application, together with all mandatory documents required (diplomas, certificates, language certificates, letters of recommendation, etc.) before the indicated deadline.

Language requirements for 2019 intake (Requirements are subject to change from one intake to another | Requirement for 2020 intake will be available in October 2019).

To be eligible for an Erasmus+:Erasmus Mundus scholarship, applicants must meet both:

  • The Europubhealth+ admission requirements and be selected by the Europubhealth+ Selection Committee to join the course.
  • The Erasmus Mundus eligibility criteria that are specific to the scholarship:
    • Students who have already obtained an Erasmus Mundus scholarship at Master/Doctoral level are not eligible for an additional scholarship within the Europubhealth+ programme.
    • Students benefiting from an Erasmus Mundus scholarship cannot benefit from another EU grant while pursuing their Europubhealth+ studies.
    • Students can apply to a maximum of three different Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees.
    • Scholarship holders spending part of the Europubhealth+ course in their country of residence are not entitled to benefit from the monthly subsistence allowance for this period.
    • Students must be committed to studying full time during the two years of the Europubhealth+ Master course.

The application for the Erasmus+:Erasmus Mundus scholarships is done when applying online for the Europubhealth+ Master course before the indicated deadline.

Cost/funding for participants

EMJMD scholarships cover travel expenses, participation costs and living costs for the entire duration of the Master course (max. 46,000€ for the two-year course). The total amount of the grant can vary according to the nationality and the place of residence of the scholarship holder. Therefore, a proof of the current place of residence at the time of application is mandatory to provide at application stage when applying for a scholarship.
