The championship represents a vision for the future of the motor industry, serving as a platform to showcase the latest innovations in electric vehicle technology and alternative energy solutions. Future seasons will see the regulations open up further allowing manufacturers to focus on the development of motor and battery components, which in turn will filter down to everyday contemporary electric road vehicles.

The 2017/18 FIA Formula E Championship sees 10 teams and 20 drivers go wheel-to-wheel in 12 cities spanning five continents in the fight to be crowned Formula E champion. The fourth season of the electric street racing series got underway on December 2 in Hong Kong, with the season finale double-header in New York City on July 14 & 15.

THE VOLUNTEERING ROLES YOU CAN EXPECT

• Gaming Arena: Are you ready to level up your volunteer experience and dive headfirst into the gaming action? Be at the heart of the most popular attraction in the Fan Village! Show fans how to operate the high-tech race simulators, carry out data collection and assist with crowd management - this role is a lot more than just pushing buttons!
• Event Experience: Be the friendly face that fans turn to for guidance and excitement! You'll be the beacon of hospitality and knowledge ensuring fans have an unforgettable event experience. This role is about creating moments of connection, excitement, and delight for fans of all ages. By engaging with our guests proactively and positively, you'll play a pivotal role it's an unforgettable adventure.
• Event Experience: As an Activation Champion, you'll be at the forefront of the excitement, engaging fans in all the games, educational activities, and partner activations on offer. Be the ultimate Champion of fun and engagement in our Fan Village, creating moments of connection, joy and excitement for fans of all ages as you ignite their curiosity and exploration around the event.
• Ceremonies: As a Ceremonies Champion you'll be right in the heart of all the celebrations during the race. This role sees you building the excitement for the fans and acting as the gateway to the drivers autograph session. You'll be handing out wristbands to the fans to meet the heroes of Formula E and play a pivotal role in the podium celebrations, creating that magical moment after the chequered flag!
• Sustainability: Join us to make a difference and drive positive change, you'll be at the forefront of our efforts to create a more sustainable and environmentally-conscious future. As part of this role you'll embody the values of environmental stewardship and community engagement that define Formula E's mission. You'll be an advocate for change, to drive understanding and awareness of sustainability principles and practices.
• Insights: Gain valuable insights that shape the future of Formula E events and enhance the fan experience, capture the pulse of the crowd as you'll be at the forefront of collecting spectator feedback within the Fan Village and around the wider event. By engaging with spectators proactively and positively, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that every fan's voice is heard and valued.
• Girls On Track: Are you passionate about empowering young girls and championing diversity in motorsport? Play a vital role in inspiring and guiding girls aged 12-18 as they explore the world of motorsport and learn from women in sports. Join us and act as a role model, mentor, and advocate for diversity and inclusion in motorsport. By fostering a supportive and empowering environment, you'll help shape the next generation.
• E-Champion: We're seeking versatile individuals to take on the role of E-Champions—the ultimate champions of flexibility, adaptability, and teamwork. As the embodiment of all these elements you'll be the glue that holds it all together, serving as a volunteer task force ready to tackle anything and fill any role as needed. By embracing a variety of roles and responsibilities, you'll have a meaningful impact for fans and volunteers alike.
• Accessibility: Join us to ensure that every spectator's journey is inclusive, regardless of their accessibility needs. You'll be there to help and guide anyone with accessibility requirements, making sure they have an unforgettable experience at the event. Let's make Formula E races accessible for all!
• Social Media: As a Content Champion you will be the first volunteer on shift, capturing all the behind the scene memories and planning. Your role is all about creating the vibes and bringing the energy as you take over our volunteer social media, create tiktoks, reels, volunteer journey and training videos.
