The Harris For President Campaign is seeking individuals who are committed to electing Kamala Harris as president to serve as interns for the IT Team.

Details

The IT & Security department is responsible for standing up and maintaining a robust technology infrastructure while safeguarding our valuable information assets. During this internship, you will gain knowledge in various aspects of information technology, including software program deployment, and the development of standard operating procedures. We are looking for folks with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the deployment of platforms, building relevant training materials, with a focus on increase adoption across the campaign.
  • Respond to and manage Tier 1 IT tickets, providing support to resolve issues promptly,  troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Contribute to the writing and updating of SOPs (standard operating procedures), focusing on optimizing security procedures and practices.
  • Draft security-related communications, ensuring consistent and clear dissemination of vital security information throughout the organization.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and equipment.
  • Assist with software updates, patches, and system backups.
  • Collaborate with IT team members on special projects and initiatives.

Cost/funding for participants

Interns are expected to work 4-6 hours per day, 5 days per week, for a total of at least 20 hours, but no more than 30 hours per week. The recommended hours are 12 PM - 6 PM EST, but schedules can be flexible. The internship is paid at $17 per hour. The duration of the internship will be for 12 weeks, with options for different timeframes/cohorts as outlined below. Due to campaign finance restrictions, interns are not permitted to accept any other payment or thing of value for the internship without explicit approval by the Campaign.

  • Cohort 1: Monday, May 13 to Friday, August 2
  • Cohort 2: Monday, June 3 to Friday, August 16
  • Cohort 3: Monday, August 12 to Friday, November 1
  • Cohort 4: Monday, August 26 to Friday, November 8
