Overview
Harvard World Model United Nations (WorldMUN) travels to a different city every year, with the goal of fostering authentic cross-cultural connections. We aim for our conferences to embody the ‘WorldMUN spirit,’ a guiding principle that encourages friendship and cooperation across borders, along with a deeper understanding of cultures and perspectives beyond one’s own. The world’s most diverse collegiate model UN conference and one of the largest, past WorldMUN destinations have included Rome (2016), Montreal (2017), Panama City (2018), Madrid (2019), and Taipei (2024), with addresses from Pope Francis (2016) and King Felipe VI of Spain (2019). The 33rd iteration of WorldMUN will take place in Manila, to be hosted by Harvard WorldMUN 2025 Manila Team.
Building upon our success in Taipei, we are excited to announce WorldMUN 2025, our second conference since the lockdown. Our leadership team comprises nine Secretariat members who collectively have experience in organizing 13 Harvard-affiliated model UN conferences. We are committed to a successful conference in Manila by bringing together a group of experienced leaders.
Globally, 2024 and 2025 serve as election years for a vast number of countries, including the Philippines. Drawing upon global events, the WorldMUN 2025 Secretariat hopes for these elections to drive delegates to have meaningful discourse. With nations across the world navigating political transitions, we hope WorldMUN can serve as a symbol of collaboration, cooperation, and understanding.
We look forward to welcoming you to Manila in March 2025.

SUBSTANTIVE EXCELLENCE
WorldMUN hosts twenty simulated committees from the United Nations, featuring a multitude of member states, international organizations, and related governmental and non-governmental bodies. Our committee sessions are directed by an extremely involved dais staff, providing the perfect setting for participants to discuss some of the most pressing problems of our generation.
CULTURAL CONNECTION
The conference blends together engaging committee sessions with immersive in-conference trips and spectacular social events to provide an unforgettable experience. This goal is embodied by the ‘WorldMUN Spirit’ - a guiding principle that encourages friendship and cooperation across borders, along with a deeper understanding of cultures and perspectives beyond one’s own.
DELEGATE EXPERIENCE
The true essence of WorldMUN revolves around the delegate experience, and we are committed to ensuring that our participants have the most engaging and enriching experience possible. Whether this comes from debate or diplomacy inside committee or the formation of relationships with fellow WorldMUNers from around the globe, the conference is an experience that delegates remember for a lifetime.
LETTER FROM THE SECRETARY-GENERAL
Secretary-General Letter
Dear delegates and faculty advisors,
On behalf of the Secretariat of Harvard World Model United Nations, it is my distinct honor and pleasure to invite you to join us for the 33nd session of WorldMUN, a forum of diplomacy, negotiation, and cultural exchange to be held in Manila from March 16 to 20, 2025.
Hosted in a different city every year, WorldMUN has united young leaders from all over the world to discuss the most pressing and complex issues facing humanity since 1992. As the international community continues to examine difficult questions and navigate global challenges, there has never been a greater need for a global platform of constructive dialogue and mutual learning. In its 33rd edition, WorldMUN will continue to foster in its delegates the key tenets of leadership, innovation, cooperation, negotiation, and the desire to make a direct impact in the world.
We are ecstatic to bring Harvard WorldMUN, including 11 of Harvard’s most talented committee chairs, to the Philippines. Each chair is selected for their dedication to WorldMUN’s education mission. Every year, WorldMUN delegates leave the conference carrying the lessons that they have learned inside and outside of the committee room with them, confident that they are ready to become leaders and visionaries in their own communities.
The application for WorldMUN is open now, and will be open until February 16, 2025. Conference information, including important dates and deadlines, can be found on our website, worldmun.org.
Delegates and faculty advisors, it is an honor to serve as your Secretary-General. Our team cannot wait to hear your ideas and witness your intellectual curiosity. We are committed to making this year’s conference the best one yet, and we know that a transformative experience lies ahead for you. I, along with the rest of the Secretariat and the committee chairs, could not be more excited to continue the unparalleled level of excellence that WorldMUN has maintained in our upcoming 33rd session.
Sincerely,
Kevin Lin
Secretary-General

Cost/funding for participants
Fees
As a student-run organization that receives no funding from Harvard University, WorldMUN relies on delegate fees for its operating costs (e.g., venue rentals, A/V and conferencing services, opening and closing ceremonies, conference materials, chair training procedures).
We do not require delegations to have faculty advisors. We also do not have a minimum or maximum delegation size; delegations may have more delegates than the number of committees.
Delegates that submit information after the February 25 deadline will incur a $7 inconvenience fee, since our partners must reprint the badges and placards.
Internships, scholarships, student conferences and competitions.
