Your area of work:
The Tax Services Regulatory Monitoring team is in charge of assisting Clearstream customers on all European/International tax matters related to income payments on their securities held at Clearstream.In this respect, you may join a dynamic and international team of dedicated and experienced people, in order to assist it for processing, providing prompt and accurate tax guidance on all Clearstream tax services, regimes and practices.
As an internal trainee, your main tasks would in particular include:

Assisting the Team in the following-up on international market practices.

Assisting the Team in working in collaboration with relevant stakeholders on various markets (withholding agents, tax authorities, custodians, etc;

Perform day-to-day administrative tasks in order to support further the entire tax process from A to Z;

Ensure that all supportive documents and guidelines are always up to date aiming at providing quality customer care.

Liaise with other units/sections at Clearstream (Tax Processing, Tax Helpdesk, Network, Risk, Compliance, etc) where necessary.

Get in-depth Tax knowledge of Clearstream tax processes and on various tax specificities on local markets (European/International).
Your responsibilities:

Provide support to the Team on the different topics and projects the Team is working on (Tax optimization processes, update of tax guides and tax matrix, significant changes in specific tax markets (Italy, Finland, etc).

Be responsible for internal reporting activities (weekly reporting, maintenance of working list…);

Be responsible for internal processes regarding contract management, publication, documentation submission to various committees;

Support a team attitude rather than individualism;

Execute work assignment in due time;

Learn to escalate and report issues to relevant Responsible/Unit;

Webinar / meeting / seminar preparation and participation.

Your profile:

You are enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's Degree programme focusing on Tax, Finance, Business or Economics with a recognized institution and can provide an internship agreement, OR have graduated with a Bachelor's degree or similar for no more than 6 months

High level knowledge of securities taxation and financial markets

High level of proactivity

At ease when discussing requirements with IT and Operations

Motivated, Flexible and open minded

Good knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint
-
Proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Fluency in another language, such as French or German is an advantage.
