Overview

The Air Navigation Bureau (ANB) in ICAO is responsible for providing technical guidance to the Air Navigation Commission (ANC), the Council, and the Assembly. ANB provides technical expertise in aviation-related disciplines to States, industry and all elements of the Organization.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of C/ISPC, the intern will:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a dedicated implementation support platform (MS SharePoint);
  • Contribute to the development of information and recommendations to project plans, peer review reports, preparation and completion of project documents;
  • Contribute to the identification and monitoring of key performance indicators for implementation support activities;
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and briefings;
  • Assist in development and implementation of internal promotion activities;
  • Support in the preparation of outreach materials to communicate the results;
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Education

  • Applicants must, at the time of application, have completed or be enrolled in a university degree or higher. The programme must be in a field of study related to marketing, business, communications, public or business administration, political science and/or journalism.
  • Knowledge of digital communications and publishing platforms. Layout and design experience would be an asset.

Work Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.

Languages

  • Fluent reading, writing and speaking abilities in English is required.
  • A working knowledge of a second language of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is desirable.

Cost/funding for participants

Interns are not paid. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by the intern. The duration of the internship is between three to six months. The intern is expected to work five days a week, on a full-time basis.
