Details

International Tennis Federation (ITF) is the world governing body of tennis. Founded in 1913, its purpose is to ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the sport, delivering tennis for future generations in association with its 213 member nations. The ITF oversees the rules and regulations that govern international and national competition.

The ITF is responsible for the worldwide development of tennis through its highly regarded Development Programme, its Science and Technical department which monitors equipment and technology, and its Officiating department which oversees the education and advancement of officials.

The ITF organises over 1,500 weeks of men’s, women’s, and junior tournaments on the ITF World Tennis Tour, and manages the ITF junior team competitions, ITF Beach Tennis Tour, UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour and the ITF Masters Tour. The ITF is the owner of the two largest annual international team competitions in tennis, Davis Cup by Rakuten and Billie Jean King Cup (BJKC) by Gainbridge and manages the Olympic Tennis Event on behalf of the IOC. The ITF upholds the highest standards of integrity and is a partner in the International Tennis Integrity Agency.

Overview of World Tennis Tour Team:

The World Tennis Tour team is responsible for delivering the world-wide ITF women’s and men’s professional tournaments. In 2023 1,133 tournaments were delivered in 75 countries. The Tour offers WTA/ATP ranking points and prize money for players at different category levels: W15, W35, W50, W75 and W100 for women; and M15 and M25 for men.

Role:

To assist with the organisation of the ITF World Tennis Tour by undertaking a variety of administrative activities and projects. The role will have exposure to different aspects of the Tour and will work alongside existing team members. A mentor for the internship will be provided. The position will learn about and may be requested to support on the following:

  • Strategy – ITF Vision/Mission, WTT Strategy, WTT annual team planning & objectives, Panel and/or Committee attendance, Exposure to wider Tours & Player Pathway teams [including Beach Tennis World Tour, Wheelchair World Tour].
  • Operations – Tour calendar principles & management, Live scoring & streaming functionality, Involvement in team meetings, Existing project work, Completing a Tournament visit.
  • Administration – Customer service support & inbox management, Processing tournament applications, Entry, withdrawal & acceptance list processing, Ranking system, Maintaining Codeof Conduct, Rules & Regulations.
  • Analysis – introduction to tennis tournament data, exposure to data journey - sourcing, analysis and reporting, scope to learn basic SQL language.
