Internships
International Organizations
Santiago
Overview
The internship programme at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) of the United Nations at Santiago is aimed at granting ad hoc internships to graduate students who have specialized in a field related to the work of this Commission. These internships are intended to promote among the participants a better understanding of international problems and give an insight into the work of ECLAC and also to provide departments with the assistance of outstanding young students specializing in a field related to their own work.
Details
Interns are university students who need to complete an internship as a requirement to finish their studies and obtain an academic or professional degree. They are expected to conduct research or work in areas closely related to their area of specialization, so that both the individual and the Organization can benefit from this programme.
The main conditions of the programme are: (1) maximum duration of 6 months; (2) the internship must be requested by the University, indicating the area of studies and minimum required duration for the internship; (3) professional internships are strictly ad-honorem, therefore ECLAC does not offer any remuneration, medical insurance or financial support to candidates.
