Overview

CYBER is an innovative and transdisciplinary postgraduate programme that was put together by the University Lusófona, the University of Barcelona and the Université Paris Cité, to train candidates with Human Behaviour Background (HBB), and Exact Sciences and Engineering Background (EEB) to intervene in human behaviour by means of digital processes, products, and systems (PPS).

Details

CYBER is a two-year programme supported by Erasmus+. CYBER classes will take place in Lisbon, Barcelona and Paris, and internships across the globe with 35 associated partners. At the beginning of the master, CYBER teams (CYBER-T) will come together, pairing one HBB student with one EEB student. CYBER-T will work throughout the programme in assignments, projects, internships and final project and dissertation.

  • Semester 1: All students at University Lusófona.
  • Semester 2: HBB students at University of Barcelona. EEB students at Université Paris Cité. CYBER-T a 2-month internship.
  • Semester 3:HBB students at Université Paris Cité. EEB students at University of Barcelona.
  • Semester 4: CYBER-T internships across the globe, at CYBER associate partners’ institutions.

The Master

CYBER is an innovative programme that looks into behavioural and computer sciences to offer a transdisciplinary approach to study and intervene on human behaviour by means of digital processes, products and services (PPS). CYBER is a two years EMJMD programme that joins students with two different backgrounds: Human Behaviour Background (HBB) and Exact Sciences and Engineering Background (EEB), and three universities: University Lusófona (Lisbon, Portugal), University of Barcelona (Spain) and Université Paris Cité (France). HBB and EEB students will be paired into teams of two: the “CYBER Teams” (CYBER-T), working jointly throughout the programme. Two periods of internship will take place around the world in CYBER partners’ universities, research labs, hospitals, and companies.

Course Curriculum

CYBER´s master’s degree is structured in 4 distinct semesters, considering the students´ academic background Human Behaviour Background (HBB) and Engineering and Exact Sciences Background (EEB).

This course will accept candidates from areas related mental health and human health behaviour and IT, including Psychology, Medicine and Health, Computer Science, and Engineering and Technology. This joint master has two tracks: Cyberspace, more directed towards EEB students, and Behaviour and e-Therapy, aimed at HBB students. The access to the professional associations is dependent on the undergrad degree.

A common formation is offered in the first semester at UL. In this semester, a team of two students (one form each scientific area: HBB and EEB) will be put together. The CYBER Teams (CYBER-T) will travel through the 2 years working together towards the goal of developing and submitting a dissertation (HBB) or project (EBB), under the supervision of tutors specialized in the area of the student’s background. In the second year, all students will take internships in CYBER’s associated institutions (hospitals, research labs, companies, etc.), and classes that will support the dissertation/project’s development. Dissertation/projects will fall within the scope of the student’s background.
