Overview
Details
The next edition of this exciting scientific summer camp will take place in Summer 2025:
- Session I: 28 July - 1 August 2025
- Session II: 4 August - 8 August 2025
Starting on Monday, you will dive into your scientific topic of choice under guidance of experienced researchers. In the evenings, you can unwind with fun activities organized by current KU Leuven students, and stay overnight in student dorms. (There is also an option not to stay on-campus during the program.) By the end of the summer school on Friday, you will be an expert on your topic!
This new summer school gives you a perfect opportunity to learn, sample, and perform real science as a researcher for a week. This summer school is open to all high school students; its primary audience is Flemish high school students. However, the courses (and this website) are in English as most of the teachers are researchers of international origin.
What is the classroom experience like?
Experienced KU Leuven researchers (faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and PhD students) teach these courses for small classes of ca. 15 students. Every student only follows one course during the program and spends the majority of their day working in class. The actual class experience depends on the course followed, and can range from theoretical work and calculations to experimental and lab work and field excursions.
