Overview

We are looking for a software engineering intern to join one of our four product teams and help us build our co-pilot for the electronics supply chain (check out this blog post for some more context on what we are building).

Details

You will be treated as a regular member of our product team and get to enjoy the full responsibility (and challenge) of shipping features end-to-end (from the first brainstorming to shipping it to production). Our past interns have gone on to work for large tech companies, start their own startups, or (our favorite) join us full-time.

Our tech stack is Typescript & React on the frontend, Rust (and some Python and Scala) for the backend, Postgres as our main database. Our software runs on Kubernetes and Azure.

You should be proficient in at least one of these technologies, but other than that we don't much care whether you are more of a frontend, backend, DevOps or full-stack engineer.

Please note: We only offer working student positions after you have done an internship with us for a minimum of 3 months.

Performance objectives

  • Join one of our four product teams as help us regularly and reliably deliver value to our users in the electronics industry.
  • Gain technical expertise in the different areas of our software stack (React, Typescript, Rust, Postgres, Kubernetes)
  • Be a proactive member in our retrospectives, dailies and other agile meetings and help us move forward in our development processes efficiently
  • Live up to Luminovo's operating principles
  • Show that you're continuously striving to learn and push yourself (and our team) by surfacing great ideas and finding ways to improve the tools and processes we use
  • We don't need you to be an expert in the electronics industry today, but you have to be willing to dive into it to understand our potential customers' unique situations and how LumiQuote can create value for them

About us

At Luminovo, we believe that technological progress is the key to solving some of the biggest challenges facing humankind today. We see it as our core purpose to accelerate that technical progress.

When not working on achieving our mission, you'll find us working on building an incredible company culture for our team. We take our values seriously and work hard to ensure we embody them, as well as foster an environment of psychological safety. This forms the foundation for direct and continuous feedback between Luminerds, something that we encourage on a daily basis, regardless of being an intern, founder, full-time Luminerd or casual bystander. We've seen that direct and continuous feedback translates into continuous learning, and continuous learning is something we all want more of.

Since the founding of Luminovo, we've welcomed over twenty different nationalities into our team. With English as our internal operating language, we hope to increase this number as we continue to grow. Saying this, it's also important to us that you bring your whole, authentic self to work every day, and actively teach us what it means to be you.

We love to work with exceptional people on interesting problems. You'll find that some of our team members have graduated from renowned universities, while others have worked for some pretty innovative companies - but this doesn't matter too much to us. What matters most is what you bring to the table everyday and that you resonate with our company values.

What we promise

  • We greatly value psychological safety and honest feedback. We always expect you to speak up and share your ideas about what we can improve within the company, and take these views to heart.
  • We do routine 1:1's with your supervisor, retrospectives, and insight hours to make sure we are constantly getting better at what we do, all while fostering employee mental health and wellbeing.
  • Personal development is something strongly encouraged by Luminovo, so there are no fixed budgets when it comes to things that will further your personal growth (education, trainings etc.), just ask and we usually say yes!
