Overview

LIVE is a two-year programme for talented and motivated students interested in multidisciplinary studies in Vaccinology. It is a joint project between five European universities, each one awarding a Master degree of excellent quality. Academic internationality is enriched by a worldwide network of 13 academic universities from Brazil, China, Europe and USA. The LIVE programme aims to prepare students for employment in multidisciplinary departments in industry, health organizations and foundations and/or for continuing their studies within PhD programmes. This programme receives the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

Details

LIVE students will be trained to adapt to different cultures during their master by their mobility and their contacts with international and national students from the regions of Catalonia in Spain, Flanders in Belgium and Rhône-Alpes in France. Each student admitted to JMD-LIVE is offered different curricula depending on his/her background and the set of courses leading to equivalence when they are PharmD, DVM or MD students, in parallel to the pure scientist students coming from universities of science or school of engineers.

LIVE students are moving in at least three different countries during the programme. They improve two foreign languages, taking into account that English is the teaching language of the LIVE Master. LIVE programme provides students with an advanced understanding of Immunology, Infectiology, Vaccinology, but also legislation, health policy and humanities around vaccinology to prepare students for a professional international career, in big pharma vaccine manufacturers or in small and medium enterprises specialised in R&D of vaccines or in public organisations dealing with public health policy / clinic / research on vaccines. Graduates are also well prepared for doctorate research in Ph.D. programme funded by associated partners.

Finally, after completion of the three first semesters, the LIVE students will be dispatched all around the world for their internship (# Feb 1- July 31) and registered in the four main university partners at semester 4. The students will finally joint together for their final oral master thesis defence which will be run as an interactive symposium, circulating each year from one main partner to another.
