Why Leveraged Finance?
In Structured Finance, Leveraged Finance, you’ll play a vital role when it comes to our bank’s performance. For NatWest Bank Europe in particular, our main aim is to deliver a wide range of financing solutions to private equity clients, as well as sponsor-owned corporates across Europe.
We act as the Centre of Excellence for the origination and delivery of complex and event-driven transactions for European leveraged finance. Our teams help our customers from NatWest Bank and NatWest Markets in the UK and Europe on raising capital and managing the financial risks they face.
Our World-Class Graduate Programme
Over the course of this three to six month internship, you’ll be:

Acting as a member of the Leveraged Finance team within our Structured Finance function

Striving to deliver the highest quality products and services to our clients across Europe

Driving client advocacy
-
Assisting your team in all stages of a deal and learning about fundamental credit analysis, due diligence, negotiating term sheets, loan documentations and LBO modelling

Helping to prepare high-quality materials for our clients, including pitch books and market updates
-
Supporting the preparation of detailed credit applications, including financial modelling, the analysis of financial statements and the review of due diligence packages

Reviewing and analysing potential target companies and transactions, as well as their products, markets and risks

Programme Requirements
To be eligible for our NatWest Bank Europe Structured Finance Intern Programme in Frankfurt, you’ll need:

To be close to finishing your Bachelor’s degree, in a gap year or studying towards a Master’s degree and be on track to achieve a 2.3 in your degree

An interest in investment banking, private equity or corporate finance

An understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word
-
To be fluent in English

Excellent analytical abilities, a good commercial acumen and an interest in developing a client-facing career in finance
