What can I study?
Experiences of Nature Adventure
Swimming in the arctic ocean. Mountain hiking. What happens to the body when you train in extreme environments? How does the body react? What happens with the mind? How do we interact with the surrounding nature? Come to Arctic Norway to learn and explore. This course is for you who are interested in the more extreme side of the outdoors!
The course includes an online session before and after the Summer School-week in Bodø.
Introduction to Zooplankton Biodiversity and Ecology
Zooplankton are a vital part of aquatic ecosystems and form the basis of aquatic food webs. This course combines field (sampling at sea) and lab work (wet lab and molecular) with lectures to provide students with tools for studying zooplankton.
Sustainable Blue Growth in the High North
The course will address sustainability from practical perspectives exploring the industrial and business life in Northern Norway. Visiting regional nature gems adds an important component to the holistic Arctic experience making students’ stay in Northern Norway an unforgettable educational journey.

Sustainable Tourism Development in (Arctic) Coastal Communities
This course offers the opportunity to join on a transformative journey exploring the balance between tourism, development and preservation of both natural and cultural heritage in Arctic coastal communities. We are going to dig deeper into the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Arctic tourism destinations and will discuss innovative strategies to achieve economic growth while safeguarding delicate Arctic multispecies communities. You are invited to engage with experts, case studies, and collaborative projects, helping you to gain valuable insights into the shaping of sustainable and regenerative futures for tourism.

- If you are a student with an active study right at a university or university college in Norway.

The Summer School fee is NOK 1500.
