In an effort to encourage advanced education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) the Ohio Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) offers financial support through competitively awarded scholarship opportunities.

STEM UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

To encourage United States’ citizens to pursue advanced education, the Ohio Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) and its member universities provide financial support through competitively awarded scholarships to Juniors and Seniors studying in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related discipline. Scholarships are funded through the Congressionally sponsored National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program, administered by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Matching funds are provided by member universities.

AWARD AND TENURE

  • The Junior Scholarship is a one-year award of $3,500 ($2,500 from NASA and $1,000 from the university). OSGC will provide the funding to the university in the Fall.  
  • The Senior Scholarship is a one-year award of $3,500 ($2,500 from NASA and $1,000 from the university). OSGC will provide the funding to the university in the Fall. 

SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL

Junior Scholars may be renewed as Senior Scholars the following year if academic performance is acceptable, and good progress has been made on the Junior research project with plans for the Senior year. Junior scholars electing to be renewed as a Senior scholar are required to submit an updated application with transcripts to the OSGC Campus Representative by March 1. Applications are due to the OSGC Program Office by Mid-March.
