Overview
The European Union Intellectual property Office (EUIPO) is committed to the future and offers valuable learning opportunities for young people at the start of their careers. The Pan-European Seal is a vehicle for early IP talent detection among Europe’s brightest and highest-achieving graduates. It targets young, aspiring IP professionals, who will be sponsored by the EUIPO and the EPO for one year-long, paid traineeships.
Details
Pan-European Seal Programme
This scheme gives young university graduates a unique first-hand experience of the European Union in general and the Office in particular. It is also an opportunity to put into practice the knowledge acquired during their studies, in particular in their specific areas of competence. In addition, it helps them understand the objectives and procedures relating to the European Union trade mark and Community design system, as well as to IP infringement and enforcement matters.
It is open to young graduates from EU Member States and from non EU countries (limited numbers):
- Who have completed successfully at least the first cycle of a higher education course certified by an official document from the University before the selection procedure starts;
- with a working knowledge of one of Office's five working languages (English, French, German, Italian and Spanish), equivalent to level B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- and preferably a good knowledge of another official EU language.
Applying for a traineeship
Each University having signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EUIPO presents the latter with a short-list of at least five best aspiring graduates of the same University on that academic year, as potential candidates for traineeships.
Once candidates are informed by their University that they are short-listed, they will have to apply for the corresponding traineeship position through the e-recruitment tool published on the EUIPO official website within the open application period.
Applicants must provide all the supporting documents required, electronically scanned and attached to the online application.
Who we are
Whether you are in trade, manufacturing or services, registering your trade mark or design makes business sense.
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), which was known as OHIM until 23 March 2016, can provide you with exclusive rights for trade mark and design protection throughout the European Union (EU) with just a single application.
But we offer much more than just registration: we are a European Union agency with a global focus. The EUIPO works in partnership with national and regional EU intellectual property offices, user groups, the European Commission, the European Parliament and other international organisations.
