Conceptualized in 2006, the Radical Innovation Annual Award Competition has been shifting the norm in the global hospitality industry by recognizing excellence in design, architecture, travel, products and more.
Radical Innovation is an initiative that challenges creative thinkers and design visionaries at the professional and student level to pioneer compelling innovations that fuel the future of the hospitality and travel industries.
Mobilizing innovators from around the world, Radical Innovation provides the platform for Real Estate Developers to join forces with design visionaries to connect, review, and brainstorm ways to disrupt the industry and bring innovations to market.

Through an annual competition, the Radical Innovation Award ® mobilizes innovators from around the world with the ideas to propel the industry forward. We create a platform for development and design visionaries to come together around innovations for the hotel and tourism industries.
We bridge the gap between dreamers and doers, fostering unique intersections of creative thought and business expertise. How do we do it? Through an international network of talent scouts and a call for entries. We discover these concepts and bring them to a global stage, nurturing the ideas, making introductions, award prizes and aiming to bring the concepts to fruition.
The Radical Innovation Award Student Project winner will receive $5,000 and the opportunity to apply for an Assistantship and full Scholarship from our University Partners.
The Radical Innovation Award Student Product winners will receive $5,000, and the opportunity to attend The Makerspace at Black Fire Innovation.
The Radical Innovation Award University Partners offer the following opportunities to the Student Project Winners:

The University of Las Vegas Nevada (UNLV) offers the student design winner the opportunity to apply for an assistantship to their Masters of Architecture program.

The University of Illinois offers a Teaching Assistantship to their School of Architecture to a qualifying student winner.

NYU allows for the Student Winner to apply for a partial or full scholarship for a graduate degree from the NYUSPS Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality.

Additional Information:
- Concepts (existing or new) must be truly innovative and offer the market something that is not widely available.
- Design/Concepts must include guestrooms and may include lobby/public areas. Including F&B facilities and other amenities is optional, but recommended.
- Product concepts may be applicable to any aspect of the hospitality industry.
- Multiple entries by a single entrant (or company) are permitted.
- Existingt entries must have been completed within 18 months of the competition.
- Must be able to provide a notarized disclosure form and certification of project originality and authenticity, if your entry makes it to the final four or the Special Judges Award.
- Students will be considered alongside professionals
- Requirements for submission: concept narrative, renderings of your concept. To be entered in a PDF less than 100MB.
- PDF must have no names of entrants or companies associated. The jury review will be a blind process.
