We are looking for a Rolling Stock Project Management Intern. This position will be based at our Siemens Mobility Inc. Rolling Stock area branch located in California.
During your journey with us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Amtrak Intercity Trainsets project where you will learn how to lead large scale projects and coordinate with multiple departments that have an impact in the way people use rail transportation today.

A little bit about us
Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.
The Amtrak Intercity Trainsets (ICT) or Airo (Amtrak’s given name) project is one of the largest contracts in the United States and will enable Amtrak to renew their single level passenger trainsets that will operate all across the United States. This large contract will allow Amtrak to support an expected large increase in passengers’ ridership on the Northeast Corridor and in the Washington state by 2030.
You will be an active member of the team managing this contract that will fill in our factory with trainsets.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Participate in internal and external meetings for the projects.
- Work with our Project Managers and Engineers on design improvements, technical documentation.
- Support implementation and supply of materials for design changes
- Monitor and document Coach production progress.
- Help track and guide materials supply to the production floor.
- Write field modifications and test procedures.
- Create tableau and reports that benefit the project.

Who Should Apply?
- Education / Majors: Current junior undergraduates or senior pursuing a BA/BS from an accredited college or university and majoring in Engineering or Project Management with strong technical or analytical aptitude
- Availability: approximatively 20 hours per week during the year and 40 hours per week during school breaks
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
- Prior internship or co-op experience (preferred) with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinking skills
- Industry knowledge and/or interest

You’ll benefit from:
The hourly pay range for this position is $24 - $28 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
