Overview
The TUM Business Game is a two-day and a half case competition where 60 students compete in teams of four over four challenges, provided by our corporate partners.
As of 2016, we are the largest annual case study competition in Munich, organized by students for students, with the primary goal of fostering collaboration between business and academia through two and a half days of team challenges developed in partnership with esteemed companies.
Details
THE TEAMS
Throughout the two competition days of the TUM Business Game, participants will work in teams of four comprised of two partner pairs. While applying for the TUM Business Game, students have an opportunity to apply either individually or with a partner pair. If the student applies individually, he/she will have a chance to choose a partner after the selection results are out. If two students apply as partners, both of them will go through the evaluation process, and, in case of being successfully selected, they will perform as a partner pair throughout the whole event.
THE CHALLENGES
The challenges are cases, based on real-life problems our corporate partners are facing. Each partner provides one case and looks after its preparation by giving advice to the participants. One case is prepared by a team of four students. After the four challenges have been cracked and pitched, the best teams of four are selected by accumulating the ratings from each case pitch. Our eloquence partner provides the best teams with an additional challenge. The teams have time to prepare the eloquence pitch, which they should perform on-stage in front of all participants and a jury of all corporate partners.
THE PARTNERS
Our partners are leading companies from various industries, ranging from consulting, production, services as well as start-ups. All partners for our 2025 edition will be announced on our website.
THE JURY
The jury board is consisted members representing the partner companies, academia and external. After cracking the cases, team pitches their solutions in front of the jury members followed by a Q&A session. After the pitch is over, Jury board provides a feedback about the performance of the team and grades the pitch according to predefined criteria, including relevance and feasibility of the solution, presentation skills, depth of the case analysis.
