The EUSPA Communications team is responsible for the provision of information, web management, promotional activities, event management and organisation, outreach initiatives, and internal communication activities of the Agency. Among other things, the Communications team focuses on the development and implementation of communication strategies and initiatives that support the objectives and activities of EUSPA and the EU Space Programme.
The position requires permanent relocation to the Agency’s headquarters in the heart of Europe – Prague – a location with excellent connections to numerous major European cities. The capital of the Czech Republic, in the banks of the Vltava River, is famous for its cultural life, renowned musical life, historic buildings, magical bridges, and recognised museums and monuments.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The trainees will support the daily activities of the Communications Team at EUSPA, with responsibilities divided between two traineeship positions: one focusing on (1) press, media, web, graphics, and social media, and the other on (2) events, visits, and project management. Candidates are invited to indicate their preference in the motivation letter.
The trainee for press, media, web, graphics, and social media will be expected to carry out under supervision the following duties:
- Support the content creation and visual design, including the preparation of illustrations, layouts for digital and printed ads and brochures, visuals for web or audio-visual products;
- Contribute to the Agency’s internal communication activities, including the internal newsletter and the creation of e-surveys;
- Contribute to EUSPA’s press activities, including the organisation of press conferences, press monitoring and reach out, and update of press/media lists;
- Support the oversight of the editorial calendar and assist with the external newsletter;
- Support the Agency’s presence on key social media channels (e.g. LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Instagram, Facebook), drafting campaigns, preparing and engagement strategies and contributing to community management;
- Assist with content creation and management for EUSPA’s websites;
- Assist with preparation and data collection for internal and external reporting deliverables.
The trainee for events, visits, and project management will be expected to carry out under supervision the following duties:
- Assist with event preparation, organization, and implementation (e.g., EUSPA Open Days, User Consultation Platform, EUSPA Industry Days) during all phases of event management and follow-up;
- Contribute to events and informational visits/meetings (in-person, online and hybrid), including correspondence with requestors, registration, preparation of the agenda, picture taking, and technical support;
- Handle efficiently event material and its delivery/storage;
- Support promotional activities to increase event visibility and participant engagement;
- Support project management activities by drafting project plans and reports, organizing meetings, taking meeting minutes, and preparing PowerPoint presentations;
- Assist with preparation and data collection for internal and external reporting deliverables.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The traineeship is open to applicants who have not previously undertaken a regular (paid) traineeship at EUSPA and who meet the following requirements:
- Have a nationality of any Member State of the European Union, Iceland or Norway;
- A recognised higher education degree (university education or equivalent), evidencing completion of a full cycle of study, or in the case of candidates who are at the end of their studies, an official certification confirming that students are currently in their final year of academic studies;
- Have interest or knowledge about one or more areas of work of the Agency obtained during their studies/research projects/traineeships or through previous professional experience;
- Possess a thorough knowledge of one official language of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the European Union; one of these languages must be the working language of the Agency (English);
- Have a clean criminal record.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The applications will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Experience and/or training/degree in Communications;
- Experience in working/studying in a multicultural environment;
- Depending on your preferred position, knowledge of at least one of the following profiles:
- Graphic Design tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro), Canva and familiarity with HTML and/or content management systems (CMS) and of web-marketing strategies and professional use of the key social media platforms;
- Event management, visit organisation, project management;
- Microsoft Office 365 Proficiency (e.g. Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Prioritising and organising;
- Flexibility and adaptability;
- Proactive attitude;
- Transversal collaboration and working in teams;
- Effective communication;
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English;
- Motivation for the post.

Cost/funding for participants
SUMMARY OF CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Trainees receive a monthly grant for full-time traineeship of €1,500.001.
Trainees may also be entitled to the reimbursement of their travel expenses from/to their place of origin.
Trainees shall be responsible for organising their own sickness insurance against health risks and their own accident insurance.
Before the start of the traineeship, the candidate will be required to provide the following documents:
- Proof of nationality;
- Diplomas or academic qualifications needed to prove that they satisfy the admission criteria;
- An excerpt from police records;
- A medical certificate confirming that they are fit for work and free of any contagious diseases;
- Documents showing that the trainee has public or private cover for accident insurance and sickness insurance against health risks for the entire duration of the traineeship period;
- A statement indicating whether the trainee is in receipt of a grant or other subsistence allowance from another source and if so, the amount of these grants or allowances;
- Declaration of confidentiality and absence of conflict of interests.
