Overview
The center awards fellowships to doctoral and post-doctoral scholars from a variety of countries and disciplines in the fields of Environment and Society.
Details
All fellows are expected to spend their fellowship in residence, to work on a major project, to attend the weekly lunchtime colloquium, and to present their project at the Center. Please note that for all fellowship types, the RCC does not sponsor field trips or archival research.
What does the RCC expect from its Landhaus fellows?
Fellows are expected to live in the RCC Landhaus at Herrmannsdorfer Landwerkstätten during their fellowship. Teaching, field work, and archival work will not be supported. Fellows will work on a major writing or outreach project in the field of environment and society. The RCC expects its Landhaus fellows to be active, respectful participants in both the Munich and Herrsmannsdorfer communities.
Fellows are required to work in the RCC twice a week (during semesters on Tuesdays and Thursdays; flexible days during the semester breaks). They are required to attend the weekly lunchtime colloquia on Thursdays and to present their research. They are also required to attend the Works-in-Progress sessions and Tuesday Discussions on Tuesdays.
We ask fellows to provide a short biography and project description for the RCC website.
Fellows are required to acknowledge the RCC’s support of their research in any publication that results from their stay here. Any fellows who are able to donate a published work of their own for our in-house library, which is dedicated to environmental topics, are warmly invited to do so.
What are the obligations of the writer-in-residence?
We ask the writer-in-residence to be open to leading occasional writing seminars and/or organizing a writing group for members of the RCC community. The writer-in-residence should also work on their own project during the fellowship.
