The Foundation print

UniCredit Foundation is the corporate foundation  of UniCredit Group. It is born from the merger, completed in April 2018, between UniCredit Foundation, established in 2003 with the goal to contribute to the development of solidarity and philanthropy in the communities and territories primarily where the Group is operating and  UniCredit & Universities Foundation, established in 2009  with the aims to promote studies and initiatives designed to deepen knowledge in the academic fields of finance, economics, law, politics and the social sciences.

Through the transfer of financial resources and the typical management skills of a company, UniCredit Foundation supports projects of significant social impact and innovation, implemented by local nonprofit organisations.

THE MAIN AREAS OF INTERVENTION ARE:

  • SUPPORT TO STUDY AND RESEARCH: UniCredit Foundation continues its commitment to promoting studies and initiatives aimed at deepening the knowledge of banking, economic and legal disciplines, through the awarding of scholarships and awards in the same areas.
  • SUPPORTING SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP: UniCredit Foundation promotes social economy initiatives in the different countries in which UniCredit operates, in cooperation with institutions specialising in social entrepreneurship. By means of grants, training, consultancy, mentorship and networking, UniCredit Foundation is currently supporting social entrepreneurship and social innovation projects in Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Croatia,  Germany, Hungary, Italy,  Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey, where over 100 social enterprises engaged in welfare services and job creation have now been established and consolidated.
  • INITIATIVES FOR UNICREDIT EMPLOYEES: UniCredit Foundation promotes a culture of volunteering and giving to the community through the dedicated efforts of all the employees, encouraging their participation in social activities and projects. Since 2003, UniCredit Foundation has organised an annual Gift Matching Program open to all UniCredit employees. Through this programme, the Foundation integrates the donations made by groups of employees of UniCredit for the benefit of non-profit organisations. In 2011 a new initiative called Your Choice, Your Project was launched, a programme which, through a voting process, involves employees in the direct selection of projects to be supported in their own country.
