Overview
VFP offers over 3000 projects in more than 100 countries each year. Our grassroots projects arise from the needs of the local community. Most projects are organized through our partner organization in another country. Our partner then works with non-profits, non-governmental organizations, or environmental and community groups within local communities. Most of our projects, about 80%, are short-term (2-3 weeks) and occur between May and September. There are also medium-term projects (1-3 months) and permanent projects, offered all year with a minimum service of 2 weeks or 1 month depending on the project.

VFP places US Citizens, volunteers residing in the USA and some Canadians. If you are from another country please contact us (info@vfp.org or 802-598-0052) before registering to be sure we can place you.
Volunteers under 18 years old are required to submit a signed Parent/Guardian Authorization Form prior to participation.

Cost/funding for participants
Registration Fee: By volunteering with Volunteers For Peace you are graciously donating your time and skills towards the betterment of communities in need. However, the organizing, accommodating and planning of the program you choose comes with some cost to us here at VFP and to the host organization you choose to work with. VFP typically charges $400 ($550 for under 18) and many host organizations have an additional fee which is identified in our camp listings.
