We are offering an internship for 6 months, starting from November 2024 in our Privacy Team.
The internships will be based out of our International Headquarters in Bern (Switzerland) and partnering with teams across many locations around the globe.
The Privacy Intern will play an important role in supporting the efforts of the Global Privacy Team in ensuring privacy compliance globally at eBay. The Privacy Intern will work closely with the Data Protection Officer, supporting them with their duties under the Swiss DSG.
Key Responsibilities:

Conducting compliance assessments and compliance testing on a global scale, e.g., to assess the effectiveness of global privacy program controls

Supporting monitoring activities; e.g., in relation to eBay’s Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs)

Conducting privacy risk assessments and/or Data Protection Impact Assessments, working closely with business teams to understand personal data processing activities, determining an appropriate privacy control framework (incl. technical and contractual controls) and maintain adequate documentation

Assisting the DPO and the global office of the DPO in reviewing and answering privacy-related queries

Supporting drafting and reviewing of global privacy policies, standards and guidelines

Management of cross-functional privacy compliance-related projects

Currently a University law student and enrolled in University

Excellent problem solving skills and highly analytical

Deep knowledge of relevant privacy laws (CH DSG, GDPR, UK GDPR)

Experience in providing privacy legal advice and assessing privacy risk

Good German and/or French language skills

Basic knowledge of compliance and compliance programs

Self motivated with the ability to think proactively

Privacy certifications (such as CIPP/E, CIPP/M or other) are a plus
